Enchanted Okotoks

Enchanted Okotoks is a Fantasy By Numbers event that transforms downtown Okotoks into your interactive fantasy adventure for a weekend of magical excitement!

Step into a world where reality and fantasy collide, and become the hero of your own story. Using our custom AR MMORPG game and enriched with live actors, physical props, and interactive storytelling, your adventure awaits—no matter your age or experience level.

Film Screening: Animal Nation – Bison

Animals have stories to tell – tales of perseverance, survival, and vital connection to the earth.  

Join us on June 11 or 13 for a screening of Animal Nation – Bison, which details how Indigenous communities like the Kainai Blood Tribe revive their deep cultural and ecological ties to the bison with the help of Elk Island National Park, which reintroduces them to the prairies they roamed in vast herds before colonization. 

Tickets are $25 and include admission to the RAM galleries, or $10 for the film only.  

Seniors' Week at the Royal Alberta Museum

During Seniors’ Week, the Royal Alberta Museum recognizes and celebrates the valuable contributions that seniors make to Alberta. In honour of those historic contributions, RAM invites visitors aged 65+ to visit for free from June 2 - 7.  

To kick off the week, they are hosting a vibrant day of fun on June 2, including live music, a gallery tour led by Michael Phair, and drop-in programs showcasing timeless technology sure to spark your nostalgia.

May 31: Learn to Sew

Scared of your sewing machine? Need a refresher on maintenance and threading? Always wanted to try, but nervous to commit? Join Naomi Pahl, textile artist and seamstress of 30 years, as she shows you the basics of this incredibly useful skill! Participants are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines (must be in working condition). Limited amount of sewing machines will be provided to participants who don’t have their own. First come, first serve on reservation of 4 sewing machines.

May 17: Learn to Needle Felt

Learn to paint with wool! Using this exciting and unique technique, textile artist of 30 years, Naomi will guide you on how to stab wool into beautiful shapes and designs! Needle felting is an easy, accessible textile craft that can be used in many areas- from creating art, to sculpting felt figurines to visible mending- there are many ways to utilize this skill! Participants will walk away with a handmade felted item and a needle felting needle.
